Gaming Addiction: Chapter 1

So Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition recently came out and I was finally able to get my hands on a copy of the players guide.  So far I like the changes that I have had the chance to read about.  They changed the structure of the classes, races, alignments, and gear.  There are some good things in there.  My friend Ben is comming down from Bowling Green to spend a week in clayton.  Hopefully we can get some D&D sessions going with josh and the women counterparts.  Should be fun times.

Ben is bringing his World of Warcraft trading cards down as well so that we can organize them.  Probably gonna make some decks and run them like a table top rpg so that not everyone has to go out and buy shit tons of cards just to play one or two times.  Get to go raid Onyxia, HUZZAH!  Not looking forward to organizing all his cards though… ugh.

MMO champion has some cool new information out regarding class spells and talents for the new expansion set to come out… sometime… eventually. All I have to say is druids get to “plant their seed” in their heal targets… gonna have so much fun with those jokes. Its almost like when the nintento Wii came out. Fun times.

But even more fun times…. midnight release of Batman… can’t wait.

Net Neutrality

Been reading some stuff online about net neutrality.  Some scary stuff out there.  I realize that most people are busy and dont have the time to research things on their own.  I respect that and have decided to use my spare time to gather some of the information into one place so you dont have to do it yourself.  Any support on this issue is greatly appreciated.

The actual website:

The link below takes you to the actual, save the internet, website.  It has a giant red button near the top that says “Act Now” click on that and then choose the first option.  It takes about one minute to fill out the information and send an email to our congressman.

It also has a good bit of information about what net neutrality is. Here is a direct link to the FAQ about net neutrality.

Here’s an askaninja video on the issue:

A good vox video on the issue:

This video is the best one I’ve found so far as far as information goes.  Got some commentary from the inventor of the internet and some congressman.  Very important watch.  It runs about 10 minutes.

Another good video:

I appreciate any of the time you have spent here on this site.  This issue is extremely important and could change the future if not passed.

Accepted

So I watched the movie “Accepted” today and while I know this is a little late I still feel its worth mentioning.  The movie was actually very funny but the main point is that It made me think a little bit.  It really went well with the things I’ve been trying to change in my life.  I’ve been trying to become a better person, think about what I want, and start writing more.  The last part being one of the most important parts of my metamorphisis.

Robyn and I are going to try to set dates for goals we have for our writing.  One of those goals is going to start next week, in which we will start writing one story for 15 minutes every day.  We will slowly up that time as we go along to try to get ourselves into the “writing mode”.  My problem has always been that I never write, her problem has always been she never writes the same thing.  So we want to combine our problems into one goal so that we can both work together to help eachother.  Thus we must write for a set amount of time (minimum) but it has to be the same story, every time, until finished.

I also want to keep up with this journal even when all the other previous times have failed… Oh well, I have to start somewhere.

Anyways, Accepted got me thinking about college and how I still play on getting a journalism associates degree at sinclair, I do not infact plan on going any farther.  This may seem like a childish move, but I dont think that everyone has the same path.  Everyone needs to find themself and I think an associates is all I really need to get to where I want to be.  If I need to get farther I can just go back to school. All I’ve ever wanted to do is write and do things I enjoy.  I also want to travel, thus journalism.  I can write, travel and do the other media related things during my spare time.

Ah well, I plan on having at least one good entry ever day or so.  The other stuff will probably be product plugs and reviews or things i found interesting.

Wall-Market

Last night was fun, I got to see my friend Josh get drunk off of our brand new concoction. Apparently if you are bored, someone says something on accident, and you actually listen you can make a brand new drink.

Robyn – “Do you guys want anything to drink?”

Josh – “Sure ill have some Jack and grape juice…”

Robyn – “Really?”

so apparently its actually pretty good. It tastes like candy.

On another note, I had my final interview at Wal-mart today, and while it feels like I’m making a step down in the world I plan on trying to make the best of it. I will use this as an opportunity to work out the other aspects of my life.

Off to go take my drug test!!!!

Airtran Airways

Real quickly I would like to add something based on part of the previous post. I mentioned that I recently lost my job at Airtran Airways. I feel it important to mention that, while the reasons are unimportant, that I have no anger towards Airtran Airways. I in fact plan on flying them many times in the future as they are in fact cheaper than a good deal of airlines.

Even though I am no longer employed with them and have no obligation to do this, I will anyway to stay professional.

“None of the views expressed in the past or in the future of this blog reflect any views or beliefs of Airtran Airways. Anything I mention about Airtran Airways is my own personal view and any activities discussed that happened while I was employed at Airtran Airways are just that, individual activities and in no way express the views of Airtran Airways.”

There, legal mumbo jumbo out of the way. Just to explain. It was part of the policy while working there that we had to post something to that effect. Since I will still be mentioning people that work their in the future I wanted to post this to cover my friends if i do indeed mention them or their employment in the future.

New Beginnings

So anyone who has read my previous blogs knows how bad I am at posting frequently, but I plan to change that with this one. I want to start a new beginning in which I keep in touch with friends more, hang out, post my view, and organize myself better. This will be my medium for this goal.

What does this blog stand for?

This blog is me which means that I will probably be posting a lot of movie, book, game, music, and anime reviews.

I plan on posting some of my original writing on this site too.

Other than that I will be posting my views on current issues and big, and some small, events that happen in my life. The usual blog stuff.

I also want to use this to improve my writing style and grammar. So any input will be greatly appreciated.

Who am I?

My name is Wesley Lance and I live in Dayton, Ohio. I recently moved into a new apartment
in which my father-in-law and I did the remodeling ourselves. I recently lost my job at Airtran Airways and will soon be working back at Wal-Mart. Currently I only know that I want to do something that has to do with writing for the rest of my life. I have hit many problems along the way but with this new beginning and the help of my wife Robyn I am hoping to turn this all around and organize my life more.

For now this is all I have time for in my post. Thank you for reading.
